Kal Penn From House to White House

After taking his own life on-screen as the much loved Lawrence Kutner of TV show ´House´, actor Kal Penn will now play a political role in real life. The White House has hired him as the liaison man between President Barrack Obama´s administration and Hollywood. That´s quite a big leap from Kutner´s death.

As announced by White House spokesman Shin Inouye, Penn will be joining the staff of White House as an associate director in the Office of Public Liaison. In his role as a liaison person, he will be required to connect Obama with the Asian-American and Pacific Islander communities, and also arts and entertainment groups. The date when Penn will start his work is yet to be set.

Kal Penn had been playing the friendly and easy going character of Lawrence Kutner in the Fox production ´House´. He has a recurring role on the TV series. Besides, the actor has also starred in several movies including ¨Harold and Kumar Escape From Guananamo Bay¨”(where he played Kumar). On the political front, he was a strong supporter of Obama during the campaign.

House’s Lawrence Kutner: Kal Penn Death

The tonight’s episode of House took an inauspicious turn when Lawrence Kutner, a character played by Kal Penn was absent for the work. After much wait, when Dr. Lawrence Kutner finally didn’t turn up, Dr. House asked Dr. Foreman (played by Peter Jacobson) and Dr. Hadley, also known as 13, (played by Olivia Wilde) to look into the matter. After they reached Kutner’s apartment they were shocked to see him lying on a pool of blood. Perhaps Kutner has committed suicide by gunshot. The whole episode of House tonight was all about this suicide and why would Kutner kill himself.

The other surprise of the show was performing artist Meat Loaf’s guest appearance. He said that he is a huge fan of the show and wanted to be a part of it someday. The only thing he said he wouldn’t accept was the abusing at the House. "I kind of fought back at him a bit. We never had a fight. I was a little stern with him, I think. I remember one particular scene, the way I had intended to play it, it didn’t turn out that way. It was that I was going to get into it, and we didn’t do it that way, But I was going to get into his face more than anybody had ever seen on the show just because I wanted to be completely different", said Meat Loaf. Meat Loaf was seen playing the role of a man admitted to the hospital dying of a heart attack.
